About the Brown County WID No. 1
Originally created by the Brown County Commissioner's Court in 1926, the District was converted to a Municipal Utility District in 1978 by Texas Water Commission order under Chapter 54 of the Texas Water Code, retaining its original name and the right of eminent domain.
