BCWID Law Enforcement Division - Lake Patrol
About Us:
The Brown County Water Improvement District Lake Patrol Law Enforcement Division consists of TCOLE commissioned Peace Officers. Our Police Officers have the responsibilities and duties of keeping the lake and watershed safe from pollution, illegal activities, and maintaining the docks and navigational quality of Lake Brownwood. They patrol the waters of Lake Brownwood and all District owned properties. The officers are MSEO (Marine Safety Enforcement Officer) certified and Boater Education certified. They can enforce all laws of the State of Texas including the laws of the Texas Water Safety Act and many Fish & Game Laws, as well as the rules and regulations of the District. The Lake Patrol has jurisdiction over the watershed of Lake Brownwood which lies in five surrounding counties and covers more than 1500 square miles.
